Q Part 4 - Controlling and Leading A. Controlling The next function of management is controlling. Now that you have designed the way you will run the event and how each facet will be handled, you need to decide what you want to control/monitor, and how you will do so. For this week’s first proposal section, describe how you will control each of these operational functions: • staff • inventory (donations) • revenue B. Leading The final function of management you will carry out, and one of the most important for the overall success of the event, is leading. In this week’s proposal section, describe how you will lead/manage your team. You also need to evaluate and summarize your test results from the week one ungraded/survey-type quiz, and explain why you agree or disagree on if the findings truly represent you. Leadership is the ability to influence employees to voluntarily pursue organizational goals, pg.466. That is my title in this whole project when it comes to the Blue Bulls Block. My staff would consist of parents and teachers who are helping the football team and genuinely care about the well being of kids in the community. In this case, I’m knocking out two birds with one stone. The football team is benefitting from this because their uniforms would be paid for free, and kids in the community will have a safe fun environment for a month. Controlling my staff should not be much of a problem because the parents and teachers would be supervising the kids as well as interacting with them for 3 ½ hours a day.
